I Remember You
(Written by Chris Peters Copyright 2009)
This was one of the quickest songs that I have ever written. Although the main hook line had been swimming around in my head for a few days, once I actually sat down to work on the song properly, it just spilled out on the page in about 15 minutes……..if only it was always this simple!
Although it was inspired after I went to the funeral of a family friend, the sentiment applies to a whole range of relationships in my own life, and there seems to have been a connection with most people that I have played it to during its development.
Endless Possibilities
(Written by Chris Peters Copyright 2009)
A soulful track of encouragement with a blues feel – Although you might not be doing exactly what you want, and feel a bit trapped in a rut, take heart, and keep striving to achieve your heart’s desires!
Living In Us
(Written by Chris Peters Copyright 2001)
As slushy as it sounds; it’s true that I wrote this song for my wife. It was performed at our wedding by a trio (bass/guitar/vocal) during the signing of the register, and as such holds special memories for me. My hope is that the listener can buy into the resolve in the lyrics to stick together and work through difficult times.
You've Made The Difference
(Written by Chris Peters Copyright 2002)
At the start of a relationship, when you’re still in the honeymoon period, you think the new subject of your affection is the best thing since sliced bread – ‘You’ve Made The Difference’ speaks of this exhilaration. Verses 1 and 2 in the minor key make the comparisons between this new relationship and all that has gone before, and the chorus then makes the change to the major key for the feel good section of the song.
The Things You Do
(Written by Chris Peters Copyright 2002)
A song of celebration of a wonderful relationship, and how just even the simple things that ‘you do’ really affect the way that ‘I’ feel. The strong yet laid-back rhythm and arrangement help to give this song a real ‘shout it from the roof tops’ feel.
Just Call
(Written by Chris Peters Copyright 2000)
We all need a little help sometimes when things get a bit on top of us – whether self-inflicted or not. Just Call reminds the listener that whatever the circumstance, we don’t have to continue in the downward spiral, but that it’s never too late to call on help – divine or otherwise.
Too Late
(Written by Chris Peters Copyright 2009)
A fun dance tune with a jazzy flavour, on the subject of moving on after the end of a relationship. The male vocal in the first half of the song, stands firm in the decision to move on, and remains so - even after the convincing and somewhat regretful appeals from the female perspective. This was one of the first tunes produced as a result of collaboration with the vocalist and female rapper.
